Kindergarten is an exciting step for children and parents alike.
At St. Giles, we provide learning areas and activities that help facilitate integrated curriculum, social growth, and maturation.
Children in our program make great strides in cognitive development and social skills. This growth affects not only their academic work and other areas of intellectual functioning but also their language and communication abilities, independence, and moral reasoning.
Our teachers plan lessons to deepen each child’s understanding of basic academic concepts and skills, through exploration, investigation and play. While we increase the focus on math, science, language, reading, and social studies, we’ll make sure it’s presented with a big dose of fun!
We provide an environment where children can challenge themselves and enjoy the thrill of discovery as they look forward to primary/elementary school.
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
Involves helping children to develop a positive sense of themselves and others, to form positive relationships and develop respect for others, to develop social skills and learn how to manage their feelings, to understand appropriate behaviour in groups and to have confidence in their own abilities.
